Carpentry

Carpentry is offered at Nanaimo, Cowichan & Powell River campuses.

Effective August 2009, the following areas will be covered in the assessment for the above program:

  • converting from and to fractions and decimals
  • word problems
  • area, perimeter, circumference & volume of circle, quadrangle & triangle
  • converting from and to metric units & imperial units
  • reading a ruler
  • using Pythagorean Theory

60 min. approx.

A dictionary is not permitted. A calculator is permitted. Geometric formulae, Pythagorean Theory and number of inches in a foot and centimetres in a metre are not given.

To help you prepare for the assessment the following Learning Centres are available at no cost:

Nanaimo Learning Centre, Building 205, Room 204. Usually open Mon – Fri 10:30 – 1:30. Call 250 740 6425 to confirm hours of operation.

Cowichan Campus Learning Centre, Building 601. Call 250 746 3509 to schedule an appointment

Powell River Campus Learning Centre, Call 604 485 2878 to confirm hours of operation.
