The CSR infrastructure development program is based on other successful agriculture | aquaculture R&D institutions. The model incorporates a university-based research facility and an associated field site for field | farm based research, technology transfer and training.

Core Facility

The CSR’s ‘state of the art’ 8000 sq. ft. research facility is located at Vancouver Island University campus in Nanaimo.

Deep Bay Field Station

To complement its research facility, the CSR is currently developing the Shellfish Aquaculture Research and Training Farm in Deep Bay, BC.

An investment of $8.5 million from the federal and provincial governments and Vancouver Island University will help fund a new shellfish research station for Vancouver Island University in Deep Bay and contribute to creating up to 55 direct jobs. read more...
