Community Outreach

The faculty in the Engineering Department consider it one of their core duties to conduct engineering/physics outreach to the local community. Most of these activities are centered on providing demos and making themselves available to local school districts (both the elementary and secondary level), although recently we have initiated an Engineering Fair event (through sponsorship by the federal government through NSERC, the Faculty of Science and Technology at VIU, and the Department of Engineering Science) to provide a day long activity to local Physics 11 classes.
