Greetings, and welcome to the online home of VIU's First Nations studies department! For over ten years, our department has been committed to the learning and sharing of knowledge about Indigenous peoples, and the program grows and evolves more and more with each student that passes through our doors.

Are you interested in a multidisciplinary field of study that is both fun and rewarding? If so, then First Nations Studies may be a right choice for you. Our Arts One program has proven to be a great stepping stone into the college world, and a B.A. in First Nations Studies also serves as an excellent stepping stone into post-graduate studies as well as many Aboriginal-related careers.

As always we would like to extend many hych'ka's (thank you's) to the Snuneymuxw First Nation, for allowing us to teach and to learn on their traditional territory.
