Class 1 Licence
This course provides 35 hours of training with a truck and trailer to prepare you for the ICBC Road Test (approximately 2 hours).
All Class 1 applicants must meet ICBC requirements:
- Fewer than 4 offences that carry penaly points in the previous two years
- Zero motor vehicle related Criminal Code convictions in the previous three years
- No outstanding fines or debts owed to the Court, ICBC or the Government
- Must meet required medical standards
VIU Admission Requirements:
- Full Class 5 Driver's Licence (no 'N')
- 19+ years of age
- Airbrake endorsement (need airbrakes?)
- Class 1 learner's license (practice this test at www.yourlibrary.ca/driving )
- Copy of your ICBC Drivers Abstract (available at no cost)
VIU Tuition: $4,400
Additional ICBC costs:
Learner's licence: $15
Medical Fee: $28 (your doctor will charge you to fill this form)
Road Test: $60
Driver's License: $17 - $75 cost depends on when your license is due for renewal

Upon payment of your deposit or approved sponsorship you will be issued a pre-study package to assist you with your program.
