This web site is a showcase for student research at Vancouver Island University. It's also a vehicle for exploring themes in late Victorian Canada, using data from the viHistory.ca web site.
This is an on-going enterprise. Launched in April 2004,
the web site was revised and up-dated in September
2008. In the future, we'll be looking at other topics and featuring other aspects of Nanaimo in the last decade of the nineteenth century.
So, as they used to say on Victorian-era hoardings:
