Students Helping Students

Apply to Become an International Student Peer Helper

  • Do you want to gain valuable leadership skills?
  • Do you have a genuine interest in helping other students?
  • Have you completed at least two semesters of study at VIU?
  • Are you enrolled in Prep Level 4 or 5 of ESL or Academic programs?
  • Would you like to help us welcome new students?

If you answered yes to all these questions, read more about what it takes to become a Peer Helper. You may be eligible for this program!

What Peer Helpers do

Offer a helping hand to new students and:

  • Participate in New Student Orientation
  • Provide information to new students about resources
  • Assist new students at different times during the semester
  • Encourage students to participate in activities
  • Help the staff at International Education with various tasks

Your Reward

How To Apply

A call for Peer Helpers will be posted one month before the start of the fall, intersession and spring semesters.
