23/01/08 - LINDSAY MCLOUGHLIN BCCAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
lindsayThis past Saturday the Mariners took on a very determined Camosun College team in front of a packed crowd of over 500 spectators. It was the 1st ever Island Rivalry and the nerves were very high. Nerves were a huge issue for the Mariners except for one player in particular. Lindsay Mcloughlin was the Mariner's star all night. Her offence and defense was elevated due to a small slump in her team's ability. Lindsay was the reason for VIU's success she recorded 19 kills, 3 blocks, 1 ace and 10 digs. She was the player that the Mariner's went to in any situation. She was scoring from both the back and the front rows. During a night where pressure was at it's highest she was extremely solid.
