Certainly, there are some key skill sets that an individual should consider acquiring to improve their employability or advance in their career. Which courses and skill sets are best truly depends on what specific environmental area an individual would like to specialize.  There is a significant amount of fisheries and environmental monitoring-related work occurring throughout western Canada. Typically, this work is associated with private development, oil & gas exploration, mining activities, highway construction, urban development, power production, and other resource extraction activities.
