STATEMENT:

Malaspina University-College students are expected to behave in a responsible manner respectful of the learning environment inside the classroom and throughout the campus.  This policy applies to all Malaspina University-College campus and off-campus locations where Malaspina University-College sponsored activity is occurring.

STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOUR

Students enrolled at Malaspina University-College are expected to meet standards of conduct, which include but are not limited to the following: 

  1. Accepting responsibility for their behaviour on Malaspina University-College property and/or at institutionally sponsored events;
  2. Complying with University-College policy and federal, provincial and local laws and/or regulations;
  3. Respecting the rights of all students and employees to have a positive and safe learning and working environment; and,
  4. Respecting the property of others.

This policy is intended to work in concert with a number of Malaspina University-College policies governing student behaviour.  See cross-referenced list at the end of this document.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION:

When students fail to meet these expectations, and when their conduct is considered to be at variance with this policy, they will be subject to disciplinary action including possible suspension.  Refer to Student Conduct Code Procedures for information regarding disciplinary action.
