International Education Stipend
The International Education Department at VIU encourages education abroad by providing eligible students with an International Education Stipend of $350, $750 or $1000.
Education Abroad Scholarships
Nine new Education Abroad scholarships have been created for students accepted into a VIU education abroad program (an exchange, field school, internship or practicum overseas). Application deadline is FEB 28/2010 and forms are now posted: http://www.viu.ca/calendar/awards.asp
North2North up to $4000!
This exchange program is part of the University of the Arctic consortium. The stipend given to a student is up to $4000 and that goes towards airfare and cost of living while at the host university. The website www.uarctic.org/north2north lists the host institutions and provides links to find the application form. A limited number of courses at each university is offered in English.

Students for Development Program
The Students for Development program allows senior-level university students to to better understand governance issues by participating in credited 3-month internships in developing countries. Application deadline for this $10,000 award is late April.

One World and Pacific Horizons Scholarship Program
(Irving K. Barber British Columbia International Scholarship Programs) The One World and Pacific Horizons scholarships are competitive scholarships, geared towards students pursuing part of their post-secondary studies, co-op experiences, internships or other approved educational experiences overseas. Application deadline March 15.

StudentAid BC
If you are currently on StudentAid BC funding, you may be able to continue your funding to include study overseas. If you are not currently receiving StudentAid BC funding, you may be able to apply.
