Emerging Educational Technologies

One of our centre's goals is to ensure that VIU is a leading edge institution in adopting educational technologies appropriate in higher education. Some of our recent projects include researching how classroom instruction, online courses and professional development can be enhanced with such technologies as:

  • audio podcasts,
  • lecture and PowerPoint video podcasts,
  • whiteboard capture devices (ebeam, Smartboard, etc.),
  • clickers, or Classroom Performance Systems,
  • blogging, and
  • social networking.

For more information about these or other technologies, contact Judy Southwell or Andrew Marchand or review the resources below.
