Terms of Use
The TLC Tech Lab Activities - The Tech Lab ’s primary function is as a drop-in lab for spontaneous, short-term access to higher-end/specialty-use items; as well as, for Vancouver Island University Teaching and Learning Centre’s (VIU-TLC) support of its programs and services.
Guidelines for Booking the Tech Centre – Occasional computer and/or lab bookings are possible if the required software/hardware is not available in a lab elsewhere on the campus, e.g. NVivo, Stop Start transcription software/ hardware, Macromedia, Adobe, SmartDraw, Xara, etc. To ensure adequate drop-in access is maintained, lab bookings will be kept to a minimum. The maximum advance booking allowed is two weeks. If access is to be for more than a couple of hours, it is preferable that the lab be used in the evenings and on weekends.
Information Required for Booking - The Tech Lab is an employee-only lab. Access is extended to: faculty, staff, research associates, possibly other associates (will require confirmation on the designations), visiting scholars, and VIU work-op students.
For more information or to book the lab – Phone the Teaching & Learning Centre at 753-3245, local 2391 or email TLC.Tech@viu.ca.
