Macromedia Freehand

Macromedia Freehand MX 2004 is available on the Media stations in the Malaspina Commons.

Freehand allows you to draw and modify images on a computer. Freehand is powered by mathematical equations that allow the computer to calculate perfect lines (called vectors). This means that when you create an image, it has the same smoothness you would see if you drew it by hand. Freehand is compatible with Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks.

An "Intuos3" drawing tablet may be borrowed from the Library Service Desk and used to draw, sketch, or write directly into Freehand using the accompanying pen or mouse. The tablet may be borrowed for 4 hours at a time by VIU Students and employees (no renewals), and may be taken out of the library. Present your Employee or Student ID card at the Library Service Desk, and quote the tablet's call number, "LTABLET", to borrow the tablet. Instructions are included in the tablet package.
