Microform Scanning Station

This station is located in the Library near the microfilm and microfiche reader/printers and the microform collection. It consists of a microform scanner and computer workstation. Unlike the reader/printers, which display the contents of microform items for reading and printing, the microform scanning station allows you to display the contents of microform items, and then capture them as digital image files.

After scanning microform content, you can save the resulting files to your Discovery account, burn them to CD using Nero 6, or save to Zip disk or floppy disk. You may also edit the scanned images using Paint Shop Pro and print them to Library printers.

The Microform Scanning Station also has Microsoft Office installed, so you can insert your images into an Office document (e.g. Word or PowerPoint). This station is to be used for microform scanning and related work only.
