- Students and Employees - Borrowing a laptop from Equipment Loans? If you want to login on campus to your VIU Discovery or Capitan account you will need to connect the laptop to the network using the included network cable. The laptops can also be used with a local login if you are using a USB drive, playing a DVD/CD or accessing the Internet via the campus S-WISP wireless network.
