The Fire Raisers also known in English as Firebugs, was written by Max Frisch in 1953, first as a radio play and then adapted for television and the stage (1958). This dark comedy is set in a town that is being regularly attacked by arsonists. Disguised as hawkers, they talk their way into people's homes and settle down in the attic, where they set about the destruction of the house.

We Too, by Jeremy Long

This show was originally developed and preformed at the Malaspina Theatre by the Theatre Department in 1982. The “We Too” was a tug which worked in the Nanaimo harbour and was also a miner’s newspaper publication. The show is based on many hours of recordings of coal miners who worked in the area. Much of this material is found in Lynne Bowen’s book “Boss Whistle.” Stories from Extension, Ladysmith, and the Cumberland area from 1909 and 1936 are presented.
Ross Desprez has contacted the author and has his permission to rework, rewrite, and adapt the original script for this production.
